What we collect

To advise you on a mortgage or protection policy we need to collect personal information, which will include your name, contact details, date of birth, income, employment details, expenditure, credit history and, for protection advice, information about your health and lifestyle. Some of this is special category data under UK GDPR and we treat it accordingly.

Why we collect it

To assess what you can borrow, to recommend suitable products, to submit applications to lenders and insurers on your behalf, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Our lawful bases are typically performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and, for health data, explicit consent.

Who we share it with

Lenders and insurers you ask us to approach, our network Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd, credit reference agencies, conveyancers where you ask us to introduce you, and our software providers. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

Typically six years after our relationship ends, in line with regulatory record-keeping requirements. Some protection records are held longer.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it in some circumstances, restrict or object to processing, and request portability. To exercise any of these, email info@breezemortgages.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
